10 Skateparks Near Hornsby, NSW

  • 16 September 2022

Whilst we might be lacking the amount and quality of parks that other parts of Sydney have, there’s still plenty of good terrain to be had in and around Hornsby Shire. Here’s a list of the skateparks close to the store here in Hornsby.

Thornleigh – 2.5 km away

1B Dartford Road, Thornleigh, NSW 2120

Concrete skatepark with an open square bowl with small extensions and spine. There are some quarters with hips and banks at one end and some really big ledges and fun flat bars at the top of some banks at the other. A small quarter on the platform enables some nice lines on the lower flat bar and rail. Best suited to more experienced skateboarders and bikers as there’s not really any small obstacles here and a lot of the lines overlap.

St Ives – 7 km away

1 Cowan Road, St Ives, NSW 2075

A relatively new park built on the site of the old one. Next to the shopping centre. A good range of obstacles for beginners and a huge bowl for the big dogs.

Berowra – 11 km away

23 Berowra Waters Road, Berowra NSW 2081

Concrete skatepark with plaza feel. Some nice ledges and rails as well as a euro gap. Floodlit until 9.30pm.

Cherrybrook – 11 km away

85 Shepherds Drive, Cherrybrook, NSW 2126

New park with square bowl granite coping in the corner, open street area with a heap of quarters, speed bumps, kickers etc. Don’t forget about the gap into the basketball courts.

Galston – 13 km away

353 Galston Road, Galston, NSW 2159

The park is a small park with a lot of things packed into it, but it is a lot of fun to skate. Every skate park will have things that are not for everyone, but I think any skater who goes to this park will have a good time (just think outside the square and come up with some new lines). So if you grab a couple of mates, and you will have a rad time. The bowl is one of the best in Sydney.

Carlingford – 14 km away

21 Farnell Avenue, Carlingford, NSW 2118

Fun park with enclosed bowl and a bunch of street obstacles including ledges, rails, banks kickers etc. One of the newest parks built in this area.

Shrimptons Creek – 15 km away

11 Narroomine Way, Macquarie Park, NSW 2113

Concrete donut bowl. Really rough and not too good at all. If you  like a bit of crust then go for it, but take a broom.

Meadowbank – 20 km away

113A Constitution Road West, West Ryde, NSW 2114

Amazing concrete park with pool style bowl, flow bowl and fun street/plaza area. Something for everyone here.

Lalor Park – 20 km away

1 Freeman Street, Lalor Park, NSW 2147

Concrete street park with ledges, manny pads, quarter and rails.

Brooklyn – 26 km away

3 Baden Powell Avenue, Brooklyn, NSW 2083

Small prefab park with quarters and grind rail. The prefab was placed correctly!
